No particularly 'Adult Content' in the sense LJ appears to interpret this, but nonetheless, written for grown-ups.
'Oursin - comme l'echinoderme.' My username is due to a confusion (late at night, rather tipsy) over the French for hedgehog. 'Oursin' is actually the French for sea-urchin, and is thus pronounced in the French way ('urs[e˜]').
Secret (and currently rather torpid) Identity: writer of fiction
Age: of a certain (and inclined to concur with George Eliot that 'The long sad years of youth were worth living for the sake of middle age.')
I AM a feminist (but...)
Founder, life-president and currently sole member of Tired of London? - Tired of Life!
Interests: numerous (please see shortlist below).
One thing I can't bear to delete any of my existing interests in favour of is Persephone Books, who reprint 'forgotten classics by twentieth-century writers' - 'novels, short stories, diaries and cookery books', in beautiful yet robust paperback editions at a sinfully accessible price. While my tastes don't always march with their choices, they have a pretty high hit-rate for republishing the kind of early to mid-C20th books, mainly by women, that I like.
Friending stuff: I tend to friend people who write in an interesting way, and at least part of the time on the subjects I am interested in myself. Usually I friend back people who friend me, but if I find that the overlap of interests actually recorded in your lj is not particularly great (e.g. while your comments on other journals may indicate a lot in common, what you mostly post in your own is pictures of Ferdie your pet ferret and details of your mutual training regime for the ferret-down-trousers championships) I probably won't, though I will pop in from time to time. The decision may not be immediate, depending e.g. on how often you post. I am also, at the moment, pretty much at the limit of size of list I can cope with.
I have a very strong preference for this place not to be explicitly connected to my passport name.
